FOREHEAD LIFT

Forehead lift and eyebrow lift is a surgery that makes the forehead skin, the upper eyelids and the eyebrows look younger by removing the soft tissues of the forehead and reversing the effects of gravity. There are many methods of forehead lift and the method to be applied varies according to the patient.

As the age progresses, it is common for the eyebrows to flatten and come down to a horizontal position. A saggy eyebrow creates an old and tired facial expression in a person. In this case, forehead lift-eyebrow lift is a method of rejuvenating the upper third of the face. Every year, thousands of people undergo successful eyebrow lifting and the results are good.

Who are good candidates?

  • If you look tired, sad and angry due to low eyebrow position

  • If you have deep horizontal wrinkles on your forehead

  • If there are deep wrinkles between your eyebrows or on your nose

  • If you have excessive skin and adipose tissue hanging over your eyes, you can be a suitable candidate for forehead lift and eyebrow surgery.

How is the operation done?

Forehead lift is usually performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia supported by sedation. There are many techniques from open surgery to endoscopic short-scar methods. Here, the most appropriate method is selected according to the patient and his wishes. The incision is usually made through the scalp. In the endoscopic method, surgery is performed with the help of an endoscope by entering through small incisions made in the scalp. It takes 1-2 hours depending on the process.

What happens in the postoperative period?

The patient is hosted in the hospital for 1 day. In order to reduce swelling that may occur after surgery, a cold application is required for 24-48 hours. There may be tension and slight pain in the forehead. These are temporary. The patient is called for control after 2 days. Bathing is allowed after 1 day. The patient can return to work within 1 week. Full recovery takes place after a few weeks.

Does it leave permanent scars?

In the open technique, the scar starts over the ear and is hidden in the scalp.

Endoscopic technique contains 3 short scars hidden in the scalp.

In the limited incision technique, the scars are on both sides of the scalp in the temple area.

Are the results permanent?

Usually the final result after surgery is apparent after 6 months. By then, the incisions on the scalp will be completely healed. As the aging process continues, gravity will work, but it will never become as serious as before surgery. There will be a slight reversal over the years.
